Truth be told I would much rather have a pretzel than a piece of candy. That said – I do love all kinds of holiday stuff. So with candy in mind I headed down to the Lower East Side to my favorite candy store, Economy Candy . My search for Peeps was stopped quickly as the manager told me that the factory had closed down during Covid and he could not get any Pepe’s this year. Sigh. But I found lots of other goodies that filled my eye with color and shouting graphics. What did I buy? I bought yummy chocolate covered matzoh. Wishing all a happy Easter, Passover and Ramadan.

Economy Candy is the best! May you find your Peeps soon although the matzoh sounds delicious. Perhaps try some chocolate covered pretzels next time. Dark chocolate..

When I was a kid Easter was about eating as much chocolate as I could whilst watching the Ten Commandments which was always on ABC on Easter night. Some time in my 40s I mentioned this at work and a Jewish woman said “You’re welcome!” and while I consider myself culturally aware, it took me until that very second to realize the only reason the TC was on was because of Passover!! She also added that the chances were good that at least some of the candy I’d eaten was produced by companies owned by Jewish people! Happy Passover, Happy Easter and most of all, Happy Festivus for the rest of us! I’m off to my in laws for the Airing of the Grievances!!!
