We made a special trip to the Philadelphia Zoo to visit thirteen month old Baby Batu, the sweetest orangutan. We had seen this adorable baby when she was one month old and could not resist revisiting her as she begins to grow up. If you want to see these photos larger click here. Check out my photos from one year ago if you would like to see Baby Batu as an infant here.
Don’t forget to watch the 44 second video of Baby Batu that I took last week directly below this week’s photo montage.

The Raptor Trust in Millington, NJ is a fabulous place to visit and support. We went out for a special visit this week and had an up- close and personal tour by owner and operator Len Soucy. Along with his wonderful stories we got to meet many of his education birds including the barn owl, barred owl, screech owl, snowy owl, broad-winged hawk, red-tailed hawk, American kestrel, and peregrine falcon. The Raptor Trust has been in existence since 1968. The Trust has taken in over 80,000 birds and managed to rehabilitate and release almost half that number. Check out their website for more information. To see these photos larger go here.

Fall is a great time to visit the Central Park Zoo. The leaves are beautiful and the temperate animals are more active than ever. Check out Ida the polar bear as she plays with one of her toys. You can also ooh and ah at our four adorable Banded Mongoose babies and four Dwarf Mongoose babies. Don’t forget to walk up the hill to see our gorgeous Snow Leopards, Red Panda and Snow Monkeys.
