Happy Halloween from Casa Lobo. Yes, that is Benny the dog, above, in seasonal garb. I always love Boo at the Zoo. It is fun, colorful and great for some unique photo ops. Yesterday’s visit to Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Zoo did not disappoint. The two baby baboons, Jabari and Azizi loved their first pumpkins. If you want to see these photos larger go here. Don’t forget to watch the short video of adorable Dwarf Mongooses with pumpkin and feather below.

While at the Central Park Zoo do not forget to go upstairs in the Tropic Zone. It is a happening spot. Along with the always delightful Mountain Coatis (Lobo, Zev and Wolfie) you can also see African Banded and Dwarf Mongoose with four babies in each exhibit. Come quickly – they re growing rapidly. Also catch our new Saki Monkeys who reside with two Silvery Marmosets. Don’t forget to catch the magnificent Eurasian Eagle Owl too. If you want to see these photos larger go to here.

A trip to the West Coast is not complete without a visit to the always terrific San Francisco Zoo. While at the Zoo we were treated to some unforgettable behind the scenes action courtesy of a wonderful Zoo Docent and some very patient Keepers. Thanks to all for their time and thoughtfulness. I was taken in by their delightful Emperor Tamarins and made this short video:

The weather is perfect for a visit to the Central Park Zoo. The summer crowds have gone and you can enjoy the playful Banded Mongoose, Snow Monkeys, three species of penguins, Black and White Ruffed Lemurs, amazing birds and much more. Yes, we drove three hours to see four month old snow leopard cubs and we were not disappointed. The Cape May County Park and Zoo is a delightful facility with over 200 acres of beautiful natural wooded areas and open spaces. And yes, it was worth our three hour drive to the tip of New Jersey to see the adorable cubs. If you want to see these photos larger go here.
Watch this little clip of Zoe, one of the Central Park Zoo’s snow leopards last winter in the first big snow.
