Baby TamanduaBack to back visits to the Staten Island Zoo was, as usual, terrific – thanks to General Curator and Veterinarian, Marc Valitutto.  Once again, Marc generously showed us around.  This week I focused my camera on some of the amazing and beautiful residents that I missed last week.  Of course, a visit with the popcorn smelling Opal, the baby Binturong, was a must as was another chance to see the little baby Tamandua. More sensational things will be happening at Staten Island in the next few months. I will be back for sure.SIZOOPART2

I think that the bottom one is a giraffe turtle. Have you been to The Living Desert Zoo and something, Palm Springs CA? In fact, have you been to Palm Springs lately? Cath rented a 3-BR house, pool and jacuzzi ($225/night!) for us for three nights. After checking out of the wonderful house, we went to Desert Palm and the zoo thing. I could move to that area (the Coachella Valley) in a minute. xoxo

Fabulous shots!! The bottom pic looks like an African left-necked turtle. Thanks Judy!
