It is always a treat to introduce friends to the fun at the always terrific Staten Island Zoo. Along with their varied zoo collection, we got to meet up-close and personal, a young beaver doing his first solo swim, Gregory their fennec fox, a tractable African porcupine, the now grown arctic foxes, Ce Ce the charming sloth and the amazing cassowary. Thanks again to Veterinarian and General Curator, Dr. Marc Valitutto for his time and energy. We loved our visit (and will be back).
Great photos, Judy!!! Thank you so much for Sunday mornings at the zoo =)

I only went there for the 1st time in May but I loved it! The pig with one blue/one brown eye is so cute, if not kosher. and the binturong smells great!

Why have I never been to the Staten Island Zoo? I really have to put it on my list of things to do. The cassowary really looks like something Disney could have conjured up!
