Last week’s short sojourn to California to see family included a zoo visit of course. This time we chose the Oakland Zoo as it has had a major expansion over the past year. Last summer they opened the California Trail to the public, focusing on this state’s native wildlife. A fun gondola ride takes you to the top of the zoo where you are greeted with a delicious restaurant and great views. Along the trail, you encounter animals such as American black bears, American bison, California condors, eagles, gray wolves, grizzly bears, jaguars and mountain lions. The rest of the zoo is thoroughly enjoyable. If you are anywhere in the area I encourage a visit.
What is that red squirrel thinking? (actually can it be a health hazard?) This is another wonderful zoo I have to visit, thanks!

They still have the Sun bears? Have you ever seen Wisent (European bison) in US zoo?
Thx
