It is that time of year when we spring our clocks forward one hour. There are lots of opinions about this issue. I don’t have an opinion about changing the clocks – I just love clocks. I have more clocks in my house than I need and I like looking at them. And by the way – I am never late. My sister Terry alerted me to The Horological Society of NY because she knows how passionate I am about clocks. Located in a beautiful old building in midtown Manhattan it is a gem of a find. The collection on view now is from James Arthur. Lots and lots of pocket watches. Wonder if the ladies of the day had watches. Did they even have pockets? Tempus fugit my friends.
What a fabulous post. I love clocks and watches too. I have a great white rabbit clock. And I recently saw a sundial watch — not terribly practical, but clever and pretty. Your copy/text is smart too. Thx!

Tempus fugit indeed Judy! Nice tribute to our essential clocks. By the way – did you know the repair work on Big Ben took 5 years? Yep – that’s a long time considering they worked around the clock. 🙂

agreed — like me the looks of clocks. have a very nice mantel clock that i got at a fare for $5 — she wasn’t sure that it worked (!). did, just not then, as someone smart put paper inside to protect the innards while in transit (and that’s only part of the story (!)). unfortunately, eventually did stop working, but i keep it of course cuz i like the look of it, very probably from the ’40s.

My sister has our grandmother’s clock. Same story – different years. But we like it so we keep it.
