Holiday time is always fun at our house. We celebrate most holidays (especially the ones that demand the wearing of a hat). My little present gang of critters, Mr. Pepe, Roberta, Audrey and Pete and our loved ones who no longer are here, Sweet Benny, Madison the elder cat and One-eyed Jack) are/were all good sports and since today is Christmas and the first night of Hanukkah we would like to share some of those fun moments with you. Wishing all of you and yours a very merry and a happy. Cheers!

Tonight is the first of eight nights of Hanukkah. It isn’t really an important holiday on the Jewish calendar but since it falls so close to Christmas it has become more about merchandise (and of course food). We celebrate just about everything here at Casa Lobo. Here are some fun photos from the past and present. A shout out to my very cooperative pets over the years – Madison, Benny, One-eyed Jack, Roberta, Audrey Pete and of course, Mr. Pepe. Let’s all add a ‘J’ to that Oy!

Growing up in Brooklyn, the Prospect Park Zoo was my first zoo and will always have a special place in my heart. I hope you enjoy this week’s visit to Brooklyn where I feature an adorable new male calf, twin Geoffroy Tamarin babies, a red-eyed tree frog, dingo, red panda and much more. Enjoy all of these fabulous faces and a very special Hanukkah greeting to one and all from my house to your house. If you subscribe to my weekly photos (and get them in your in-box) you are probably not able to view my videos directly from your inbox. Just scroll up and click on the Blue link (which is the name of today’s send) and it will take you back to my ‘While at the Zoo’ website where you can watch today’s video selection from Marley the Hanukkah singing dog. Marley is very talented. I have not been able to teach my dog Benny how to sing but he is excellent at striking a pose as soon as I approach him with my camera.
