I had another chance to spend the day working at the Prospect Park Zoo this week. The zoo looks beautiful and the collection animals active. Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Zoo was the zoo of my childhood and whenever I visit I get a few fond flashbacks. On this visit, I remembered there was an elephant named ‘Judy’ – so I googled it. Oh dear – sometimes, the outcome of a google search is not very good news. But, it was a long time ago and zoos were very different back then. My memory of Judy the elephant still remains sweet. Go visit!

May’s mini-zoocation continued with a visit to the delightful Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo in Ft Wayne, Indiana. The zoo is a perfect size with a varied and interesting collection of animals. The site lines are terrific and there is something around each bend on the road to surprises. A big shout out to Ann Barker and Director Jim Anderson for making our visit so memorable.

Just scroll up and click on the Blue link (which is the name of today’s send) and it will take you back to my ‘While at the Zoo’ website where you can watch today’s video selections below the dingo photo montage.
The Prospect Park Zoo’s four dingoes will only steal your heart – not your baby. Much has been made of the famous line “The dingo ate my baby” from the 1988 movie a ‘Cry in the Dark‘ starring Meryl Streep:
Paradies of this famous line are plentiful including this one from a Seinfeld episode:
