This is day 184 for me being home during the COVID19 pandemic. I needed some extra smiles this week so I decided to salute all of the adorable lion, tiger and bears cubs we have seen on our many zoo visits over the years. Hope they bring some smiles to your faces too. Stay safe, wear a mask and social distance please.

The penultimate zoo on our Colorado/Utah Zoocation 2016 was the beautiful 42 acre Hogle Zoo located in Salt Lake City. A special highlight was being able to see their three adorable lion cubs born on February 27, 2016. A shout out to Director Craig Dinsmore, Asst. Director Christina Castellano and Creative Services Director Jay Weston for our pre-opening tour. A delightful zoo in an amazing setting.

I love cats – both big and small. This week’s montage is dedicated to these gorgeous creatures. See if you can identify 14 out of the 37 cat species in the world. If you scroll down to the bottom of today’s montage you can see my two cats, Audrey and Roberta, now a year old. Want to see them one year ago? Check them out here. If you are on facebook, you can ‘like’ Audrey and Roberta and join a growing list of fans who get one photo a day of their exploits and antics.

The occasional Friday road trip gang piled into a car this week and visited the Philadelphia Zoo. Their four little lion cubs were the big draw for me and the Philadelphia Zoo never disappoints. Their tree-top trail theme has expanded to include larger primates and now the big cats also have access to this great enrichment. There is nothing quite as thrilling looking up to see a gorgeous tiger overhead, licking his chops. They are in the process of building an overhead trail for the gorillas too. We will be back.

Zoo # 7 on our zoocation was the enormous and beautiful Toronto Zoo. We were fortunate to meet some new Zoo friends who were very generous with their time and attention with some behind the scenes access. The Toronto Zoo has an adorable young polar bear named Hudson and three beautiful white lion cubs just in from South Africa. I made a short video of the adorable lion cubs that you can see below. Enjoy! If you subscribe to my weekly photos (and get them in your in-box) you are probably not able to view my videos from your inbox image. Just scroll up and click on the Blue link (which is the name of today’s send) and it will take you back to my ‘While at the Zoo’ website where you can watch today’s video selection.

No – it is not Sunday, do not go back to sleep. It is Monday but Time Warner has crashed in my area and there is no Internet or TV since Saturday morning. So, I am positing this away from Casa Lobo. Our trip to the Bronx Zoo was filled with delightful visions including six tiger cubs, growing lion cubs and the always sensational bear cubs.
