It is no secret that I love this time of year. I enjoy the amazing colors of the changing leaves and the fullness of the fall harvest. My love of pumpkins is well known. I went to the Union Square Green Market yesterday to feast on all of the fabulous colors and textures. I admit to not knowing what some of that produce was…but I enjoyed it fully. And yes, I added some of my pets to show you how much they too, enjoy this season. Enjoy!

My October obsession with all things bats, birthdays and pumpkins has almost come to an end with this Sunday’s photo montage. Enjoy (with me) some fun pumpkin enrichment from this year and from the past years at the Central Park Zoo.The bottom photo is of my dog, Mr. Pepe with his small pumpkins that I call ‘Pepekins.’

My October obsession with all things bats and pumpkins has come to an end with last Sunday’s adult photo session at the Central Park Zoo. Fun and enrichment was had by all species. I usually post something about our having to turn the clocks today as Daylight Savings Time ends. If you enjoyed those posts – here is the one from last year. Enjoy that extra hour of sleep.

Anyone that knows me is aware that this is my favorite time of the year. Pumpkins, apple crisp, candy, costumes, decorations, cooler temperatures, and lots of fun. A shout out to my pal Robyn for alerting me to some of the best decorated places in Manhattan. I have been wandering the streets of the upper East Side and Chelsea to see these houses. Along the way I have had the opportunity of meeting the people who put up the decorations and chatting with them. Anyone that says that New Yorkers aren’t nice and fun – is plain crazy. Maybe next year I will venture off the island to visit some of the other boroughs. And finally – next Sunday, Halloween, is the Central Park Zoo’s first adult photo session since COVID. Last Sunday was our photo class featuring, of course, pumpkins at the Central Park Zoo. An enormous shout out to the courageous photographers who braved the soaker of a day. The rains came and came and came. We persisted and had lots of fun. The animals seemed to have as much fun as the photographers which made the weather tolerable (almost). Enjoy! Look to this space for the announcement of our next Sunday photo class in February featuring…hearts.

Last Sunday’s Fall Photo series at the Central Park Zoo was lots of fun. The rain held off and everyone (especially our animals) were enriched by our many pumpkin experiences. Yesterday’s photo class at the Central Park Zoo turned out to be great fun despite the ‘iffy’ weather. Our hearty band of photographers were enriched by our pumpkin dsplay as much as our animals. Fun for all. Did I mention today is my birthday?
