EdithThe four California sea lions who live at the Central Park Zoo never cease to amaze.  They flip, flap, flop and fly across the pool and into the air.  Come watch April, Katie, Edith, little Charlie and of course their dazzling zookeepers daily during their feed and demonstration at 11:30, 1:30 and 3:30 each day.  fff

CAPTIONWildlife photography is great fun – especially when you get amusing photos that cry out for captions. Here are some photos for you to enjoy and caption.  Feel free to share your wit with the rest of us on my website comments space.

For all of those camera enthusiasts out there, I’ll be running a Fall Foliage photography workshop at the Central Park Zoo on  October 19 from 8:30 to 10:30. I will arrange some special pumpkin and other activities so you can get great animal shots. Here is a link to last year’s photos from this event. Pumpkintastic! CAPTIONPLEASE

Mongoose pupIt has been almost four months since I shared photos from my home base, the Central Park Zoo. Our May, all Tennessee Zoocation, my June Arctic adventure and visits to other terrific zoos have made me derelict in sending out photos from my favorite zoo. Enjoy!CPZ7.2014

AskaiWe did not get much snow earlier this week but we got enough for some fun snow photos of the zoo residents (especially the snow leopard twins) enjoying their first snow of the season.  My own kittens, Audrey and Roberta, enjoyed watching their first snowfall too.  Check out the video below today’s photo montage.

LemurMeet the newest resident at the Central Park Zoo.  Little Charlie the sea lion, now lives with April, Katie and Edith in the Central Garden pool.  Come see her and our fast growing adorable snow leopard twins soon.  The summer crowds have gone and it is a perfect time to have close-up and personal time with our beautiful animals.  Take a shopping break this holiday season and bring your while family to the zoo.

Yawning TitiThose lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer bring on those summer time yawns.  Catching and then photographing one of the Central Park Zoo animals mid-yawn is always fun. Oh, there is one beautiful face that does not belong today – can you find him?

April-fish holdThis week the Central Park Zoo introduced a pair of Titi Monkeys who can be seen upstairs in the tropic zone’s mezzanine. While you are up there do not miss the adorable, very active six baby Banded Mongooses (and their big brother). If you get too warm, cool off in the chilly Penguin House where you can find four species of penguin – Chinstrap, Gentoo, Rockhopper and King. Come visit – it’s fun!
